Pretoria: six passengers sustained injuries as bus knocked them away

As can be seen on a video that went viral an Intercape bus that arrived at a station rammed the people standing with their luggage at the stop.

An unfortunate incident happened in Pretoria at around 5:48 a.m on Monday.

It can also be noted that, apparently, the driver while parking at a bus station did not cope with the control at some point and possibly got the gas pedal and the brake pedal mixed up. The bus turned slowly, then appeared to accelerate.

Intercape management said on Wednesday that the bus was inbound from Zimbabwe and was off-loading passengers at the station.

There were 50 passengers and two drivers on the bus at the time.

The relevant authorities are investigating the causes. Intercape is assisting all relevant authorities with their investigations.

“Senior Intercape officers were on the site and assisted the injured passengers and their families. Intercape is saddened by the incident and will do whatever we can to assist the passengers during this difficult time,” the Intercape bus service said.
