Three motorists swept up by a three-vehicle crash in Mitchells Plain on Monday sustained minor injuries.
The crash between a blue Golf and two white Quantum taxis that resulted in a traffic collapse at Wespoort Drive and Eisleben Road happened around 8 a.m.
According to a witness, the driver of the blue Golf was responsible for the accident.
“That Golf driver was speeding heavy, like almost everyone does on the road here. He sped past us and the next thing I just saw the car spiraling out of control,” the eyewitness said.
He also added that the taxis were not even moving but several people got hurt. The Golf driver and those in surrounding vehicles were injured.
“I can confirm a motor vehicle accident on Wespoort Drive and Eisleben Road on Monday morning. Two people injured, both drivers, and the taxis were empty,” the City of Cape Town’s Traffic spokesperson, Richard Coleman said.
