Gold Fields. New information about mineworkers’ murder

We have written about the killing of two mine workers. There is some new information.

Several mineworkers are believed to have been waiting on the bus stop for transport that meant to take them to the Gold Fields mine located outside the city, when a bakkie has stopped and three suspects shot at the miners.

It is worth noting that the reason for killing is not clear yet, although a motive could be a murder of a 53-year-old Beatrix mineworker or a strike by the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) that started in November.

The mining group’s spokesperson, James Wellsted, has confirmed that the victims were Beatrix Mine employees.
