Police have arrested suspect with illegal firearms and 24,000 bullets

Police forces in Mamogaleskraal have managed to arrest a 52 year-old suspect who was then charged with possession of illegal firearms and ammunition. He appeared in the Brits Magistrate Court – Colonel Adele Myburgh reported.

The police spokesperson has shed more light on the case:

“During a search at the suspect’s house, the police found and seized close to 24,000 ammunition of various calibers, five firearms of which three were unlicensed, as well as four self-made firearms,” she said.

“Further investigation led the police to a flat owned by the suspect at Silverton, Pretoria, where the following items were confiscated: a suspected ammunition manufacturing machine (reloader), different caliber bullet heads, 400 rounds of ammunition, 1,000 empty cartridges and gun powder.”
