A primary school teacher accused of multiple sexual assault stood trial on Friday morning.
The egregious case of sexual assault gathered a large number of journalists and pupil’ parents clamouring for justice.
The 55-year-old Valhalla Primary School teacher has supposedly insulted at least 23 pupils since June 2018.
Since June 2018 dozens of sexual harassment allegations were received from the students’ parents. Nevertheless, the Gauteng Education Department decided to remove the educator off his duties just yesterday.
“The department was happy with the arrest” spokesperson for the Department of Education, Steve Mabona said.
“All stakeholders should not influence the children to avoid the case being tossed out of court.” Steve Mabona also added.
The accused will be granted an opportunity to be released on bail next week after the National Prosecuting Authority verifies and confirms his physical address and checks his criminal history.
