The death of 20-year-old student Mlungisi Madonsela has become a reason for the large numbers of police officers to be on a standby at Curries Fountain Stadium near the University’s Steve Biko Campus.
The protesters poured at university square after Mlungisi Madonsela’s death. He was allegedly shot during the fray by private security guards on Tuesday. The protesters crowd was headed by a group of about 30 students wearing red EFF T-shirts who were walking down the Steve Biko Road on Wednesday.
The mob of protesting students disturbed the vehicular traffic, they were shouting and chanting.
The students went down the street to the alleged murder site of Mlungisi Madonsela.
