Milnerton Police have managed to arrest two culprits who were then charged with possession of abalone and required equipment. According to the official Cape Town police report, the abalone, worth about R4.8m, was found at the scene.
Our focus to clamp down on the lucrative abalone trade in this province has yielded the desired result last night when two foreign nationals were arrested for being in possession abalone valued at a substantial R4.8 million,” spokesperson Andrè Traut said.
For now, the two suspects aged between 25 and 34 are in custody until they appear in court in Cape Town on Monday.
