Piketberg police officers have successfully intercepted the part of drug supply network by stopping the car full of mandrax and tik. In addition, they arrested six suspects, aged between 21 and 46 years.
According to the reports, a local South African Police Service department in Western Cape received information about the imminent crime. Unnamed caller claimed that a Toyota Corolla with six male occupants and a big party of drugs would travel through the province, from Cape Town to Vredendal and Citrusdal.
Police quickly reacted to acquired data with several patrol deployments. One of the squads saw a similar car, stopped and searched it:
“They [officers] found 510 mandrax tablets and 65 grams of tik in the vehicle.”, said in an official statement.
It is also confirmed that six arrested men will appear in the Piketberg magistrates court on Thursday.
